Planned PETHood of Georgia

A fair, simple reservation system for a pet-care nonprofit

A custom online reservation system that lets low-income families book one of a limited number of daily slots for low-cost pet vaccines and services.

The challenge

Planned PETHood of Georgia is a nonprofit that provides low-cost vaccines and services to pets of low-income families. Capacity was limited to 20 appointments per day. Managing that demand by phone was time-consuming for staff and frustrating for families.

What I built

A custom web reservation system tailored to the clinic’s rules:

  • Families pick an open day and reserve one of the daily slots online.
  • Capacity limits are enforced automatically, so the clinic is never overbooked.
  • Staff get an admin view of each day’s reservations.
  • Confirmation messages tell families exactly when and where to arrive.

The result

Staff spend far less time on the phone, families can book at any hour, and the clinic’s limited capacity is shared fairly. It is the kind of small, focused system that has an outsized effect on a small organization.
